Friday 10th January - Zwift Gold Rush Challege
This will mark the second year Cycling Australia has partnered with Zwift to bring eRacing to an exciting week of action.
The event will begin on Friday evening following the National Criterium Championships at Housey Housey on Armstrong Street in Ballarat.
The evening will revolve around a community built tool called Gold Rush that sits on top of Zwift to allow riders to hunt down gold coins that appear randomly on the course.
Everyone who walks into the venue will be assigned a tribe, this will help form groups and boost excitement about jumping in and helping teammates. While prizes will certainly get everyone excited, the party-like atmosphere and expert commentary from Matthew Kennan and Pat Shaw will certainly have the venue buzzing.
To begin the journey each entrant will be given one of four coloured glow stick wristbands. These wristbands will match with one of four Wahoo Kickr Bike stations in the venue which they will then have the chance to try out.
The evening’s racing will consist of three rounds of 15 minutes. Each coloured team will have a chance to move their avatar through Zwift to collect gold coins on Gold Rush in a relay format. The team who successfully collects the most coins in the 15 minutes wins.
