Cycling Australia is delighted to announce a new three-year partnership with the Fiona Elsey Cancer Research Institute, which will become the Official Charity Partner of the FedUni Road National Championships from 2018-2020.
Cycling Australia CEO Nick Green OAM said that the Fiona Elsey Cancer Institute and the iconic RoadNats were a great fit, with the Institute already active in cycling through its Ballarat Cycle Classic.
“The Fiona Elsey Cancer Research Institute makes a world class contribution to cancer research and I know that everyone in the cycling community, particularly those who are making the trip to Ballarat in January, will get right behind this very important cause,” Mr Green said.
“We are thrilled to announce this partnership and delighted to be supporting such important work.”
Institute Chair, Emeritus Professor Wayne Robinson said that the Institute will be at the RoadNats raising the profile of the centre and the upcoming Ballarat Cycle Classic.
“As the Official Charity Partner there is the opportunity for the community to support us by volunteering on behalf of Fiona Elsey Cancer Research Institute at the Championship. For every volunteer shift completed, Cycling Australia will donate $50 to our cancer research program.” Emeritus Professor Robinson said.
