traffic detours

Vehicles intending to travel southbound along Geelong Road towards Buninyong/Geelong from Mount Helen will be diverted via Eddy Ave & Moss Ave.

Vehicles intending to travel northbound along Geelong Rd towards Ballarat will be diverted via Moss Ave & Eddy Ave.

PUblic transport

Local buses that usually stop at Chancellor Drive, Mount Helen will be diverted to stop at a temporary bus stop on University Dr. Notification signs, with details of temporary bus stop locations, will be placed on existing bus stops in the lead up to the event.

traffic cones

For the safety of pedestrians, volunteers, spectators and athletes, traffic cones will be placed in each resident’s driveway along the course to act as a reminder to residents that the road is closed.

traffic detours

Vehicles intending to travel to properties located south of Sturt Street are encouraged to use Dana Street.

Vehicles intending to travel to properties located north of Sturt Street are encouraged to use Mair Street.

Vehicles intending to access the Western Freeway should use Drummond Street to travel north and connect onto the Western Freeway.

Vehicles intending to travel across Sturt Street in a north-south direction are encouraged to use either Drummond Street or Grenville Street

Parking

Parking will be restricted on the sections of road as detailed in the road closure table above.

PUblic transport

Local buses that usually travel along Sturt Street will be diverted to Mair Street (eastbound) and Dana Street (westbound). Those that cross Sturt Street will be diverted along Grenville Street. Notification signs, with details of temporary bus stop locations, will be placed on existing bus stops in the lead up to the event.

Access to Sturt Street Shops

Pedestrians access to the shops along Sturt Street will be maintained at all times. There will be several pedestrian crossing points allowing shoppers to cross over to either side of Sturt Street.

traffic detours

Vehicles intending to travel southbound along Geelong Road towards Buninyong/Geelong from Mount Helen will be diverted via Eddy Ave & Moss Ave and follow the signage to Buninyong/Geelong.

Vehicles intending to travel northbound along Warrenheip St/Geelong Rd towards Ballarat are encouraged to use the Moss Ave & Eddy Ave detour.

Vehicles intending to travel eastbound along Midland Hwy towards Geelong will be diverted at Winter St and advised to use the Simpson St detour.

Vehicles intending to travel westbound along the Midland Hwy towards Ballarat will be diverted at Lal Lal St and advised to use the Simpson St detour.

PUblic transport

Local buses that usually travel along Geelong Road/Warrenheip Street and/or Midland Highway/Learmonth Street will be diverted as detailed above.

Notification signs, with details of temporary bus stop locations, will be placed on existing bus stops in the lead up to the event.

Access to Buninyong Shops

Pedestrians access to the shops in Buninyong will be maintained at all times. There are several pedestrian crossing points allowing shoppers to cross over to either side of Warrenheip Street and Learmonth Street.

Vehicles will be able to access the Buninyong township via two vehicle crossing points at Cornish Street (across Learmonth Street/Midland Hwy) and Barkly Street (across Warrenheip Street). These crossing points will be managed by Traffic Controllers and Victoria Police.
