ENJOY THE BEST VIEW IN TOWN AS WE CROWN THE NATIONAL CYCLING CHAMPIONS
Ballarat will ring in the 2022 cycling calendar with the battle for the green and gold jersey at the Federation University Road National Championships.
With events including para-cycling and community events, 2022 is going to be the biggest Road Nationals to date, and we need your help to make it unforgettable!
The program consists of 50+ races across 5 days. With over 500 shifts to be covered and varied shift times across the week, there’s something to suit everyone!
volunteer roles on offer
course marshals
Course Marshals help ensure the safety of the event. They are assigned to designated areas along the racecourse to help ensure that, throughout the race, the course is safe for riders to compete on. We encourage you to have a book and picnic chair so you can be comfortable throughout your shift.
Signage Assistant
The signage team install the mesh signage outlined in the signage plan. Signage will need to be as accurate as possible when positioning.
parking marshal
As a parking marshal, you will assist all competitors and spectators into designated car spaces and ensure the whole area is utilised efficiently.
Pedestrian crossing marshal
You will be deployed at pedestrian crossing locations which are high foot-traffic areas. You will need to keep the course clear of spectators while the race is approaching and traveling through these areas. Assist spectators and public with safely crossing the road, while also ensuring the safety of the cyclists.
general assistance
This shift is perfect for our all-rounders. If you are happy to do any jobs throughout the day, this is for you! On the day, you could be doing a range of jobs including signage assistant, course or parking marshal or working at the pedestrian crossings
